Companion Hearts
(pretty pic by Paul)Love is....
...him doing the dishes at 11 pm, just because he promised 27 hours ago.
...her knowing how to shut the water valve off, and not teasing him because he doesn't.
...when she asks for one donut at nine am, and gets twelve at three pm.
...sharing french fries after a long day, and knowing that the longevity of our relationship depends on getting two orders.

Weary hearts
It's been a day and a half, and it's barely ten pm! And on days like this...where the world feels a little heavy and tiresome, one needs a good glass of wine, and some soul food.
Love is a great beautifier.

Women are meant to be loved, not to be understood.
Women love men for their defects; if men have enough of them women will forgive them everything, even their gigantic intellects.

Happy Hearts
The first time I saw Moulin Rouge also happened to coincide with the first time I was desperately in love. And not just mushy, tingly, all smiles, goofey love. Okay, yes, all those things. But also committed love.
"Love is a many splendor-ed thing! Love lifts us up where we belong! All we need is love!" And I was completely lost in that story. Not just because it's moving and beautiful, but because it tells it like it is. No, not every relationship ends in a ghastly death scene of the heroine, but most of us do face pain in our journey towards love, and yet fight to keep that love alive. It paints a picture of the glorious triumph of love. And it has since been one of my favorites.
So, as I finish waxing poetic here, it shouldn't surprise anyone that Valentine's is one of my favorite holidays. Even before I was dating, or married, or biased. Quite frankly, chocolate, red hearts, and focusing on loving people makes February's existence worth while. (Cause otherwise it would be about snow, and numb extremities, and frostbite.)
So, as I've committed to blogging more, and in honor of love and Valentine's....I'm going to find something to do, or watch, or take note of that celebrates love for the next 12 days. I'm going to attempt 12 posts (or at least 12 entries, even if a few happen on the same day!) to document my little adventure. And, as my husband is a busy busy man, I get to plan our Valentine's celebration this year! And that shall be my concluding event! So to get in the spirit, or to ward off the winter blues...Feel free to join me, and comment on how you find love in the next two weeks!
